U. S. Capital.  Gorgeous building!  Huge building!  The Rotunda is stunning.  It took an Italian artist 11 months of laying on his back on scaffolding to paint the ceiling in the Rotunda.  Also, here's a trivia fact for you...You could stand the Statue of Liberty from head to toe in the Rotunda and still have room left over.

I snuck over and grabbed a quick photo of this as we were passing through the hall.

The last of the photos from the Botanic Gardens.  They had these giant ferns that were fabulous. Just a great place to spend a day.

The U.S. Botanic Gardens.   What a wonderful place.  It fills your eyes with beauty, fills your nose with wonderful smells, fills your ears with sounds of the peace & softness of growing things, fills your sense of touch with things both soft & hard, smooth & rough.  You can even taste the moisture in the air.  Ahhhhhhh.  I could stay there all day.

The Museum of the American Indian  building is a beautiful piece of architecture!  Just a gorgeous building to photograph.  The museum itself is beautifully laid out and really fun to go through.  If you're adventurous, try eating lunch at the cafe which features Native American foods.  The food was very good!

A few more amazing sculptures from the National Mall.
